Nar Phu Village Trek

12 Days

A Trekker’s Paradise,

Nar Phu Valley Trek is a striking short journey in the Trans Himalayas. It’s just behind the north face of Mt. Annapurna. The Nar Phu Village Trek is a combination of cultural, adventure, and scenic phenomena. Sky towering peaks and adventure passes, glaciers, remote ancient villages, ranging river making deep gorges, lovely forests, amazing rock configuration. A herd of yaks, wild goats, Gombas, and medieval unique Tibetan culture handover from their ancestor are the main features.

Nar Phu Village Trek was officially opened in 2003 for trekkers and developed as a tea house and homestay concept.  As this is Restricted Area trekking you need special trekking permits through the registered trekking agency.

The real adventure begins as the trail diverges from the Annapurna Circuit route. Leading towards the remote villages of Nar and Phu. Walking amidst towering cliffs and rugged terrain, you can feel a sense of serenity enveloping you. A rare escape from the chaos of modern life. Nar Phu Village welcomes with open arms, its traditional stone houses and prayer flags. Painting a vibrant picture against the backdrop of snow-capped peaks.

The warmth of the locals and their genuine hospitality left an indelible mark on your heart. Sharing stories over cups of butter tea, gaining insight into their age-old customs. Way of life, and feeling privileged to be a part of their world even for a fleeting moment.

Each day brought new adventures, from exploring ancient monasteries. Adorned with intricate murals to traversing high mountain passes that tested my endurance. The crisp mountain air rejuvenated my spirit, and the star-studded night skies whispered tales of the cosmos. Igniting a sense of wonder within our hearts. One of the highlights of my trek was the visit to the mystical Tilicho Lake. Nestled at an altitude of over 4,900 meters. The sight of its turquoise waters reflects the surrounding peaks. Left us spellbound, a reminder of nature’s boundless beauty and untamed grace.

However, there is road access to the Chame-district headquarters of Manang and further. This day Nar Phu Village Short Trek begins from Koto village. And then leaves the main trail of Nepal’s legendary Annapurna Circuit. After crossing the Marsyangdi River at Koto, the trail heading to Nar Phu Valley follows Nar Khola. Where just a few trekkers can be seen. The trek swiftly moves away from routes with more trekkers traffic and into the remote Nar Phu valley. The trail goes through the narrow path and forest with a frequent glimpse of mountains.
