Essentially, altitude sickness can manifest at elevations of 2500 meters and higher. Generally, the risk of altitude sickness is lower below 4,000 meters, but this can vary based on different factors. Therefore, since the Badimalika trek reaches approximately 4,220 meters above sea level, there is a possibility of experiencing altitude sickness. First-time trekkers should adhere to high-altitude mountain guidelines and undergo pre-climbing training. Effective prevention strategies for altitude sickness include proper acclimatization, ascending to higher altitudes during the day and sleeping at lower elevations, consuming a diet rich in carbohydrates and staying hydrated, and always trekking in groups.

The signs of altitude sickness include dizziness, vomiting, headaches, shortness of breath, insomnia, and fatigue. If altitude sickness occurs, it is important to descend at least 300 to 1000 meters, consume hot soup and energy-rich foods, and take a rest. In severe cases, emergency rescue may be necessary, and a trek manager or guide will coordinate the rescue efforts.
