Hence, in the Manaslu base camp trek, altitude sickness could occur because it has high passes and the high altitude of Manaslu Base Camp. To prevent altitude sickness on the Manaslu trek, you need to drink plenty of safe drinking water, eat enough carbohydrates, and avoid alcohol. Indeed, if trekkers experience altitude sickness, the best medicine is to descend at least 300 m. to 1,000 meters with the guidance of your guide.

Moreover, there are certain mountain hiking rules to follow, such as climb high and sleep low, eat plenty of carbohydrate food, drink plenty of water, and avoid alcohol. However, the travel insurance must cover the high-altitude trekking; some travel insurance policies will cover only below 4,000 meters. The Manaslu Base Camp trek and other high-altitude treks in Nepal need to have up to 6,000 meters of coverage. However, for the expedition and peak climbing, the travel insurance coverage needs to be up to 8,848.86 meters. Safe Drinking Water during the Manaslu Base Camp Trek

Drinking water is crucial in trekking in the Himalayas, where you need to consume safe and clean drinking water. Indeed, water in the Himalayas and mountains will have more calcium and iron, so sometimes you might have indigestion problems. However, the main cause is that not all clean-seeming water is bacteria-free and safe to drink. During the trek in Nepal, there will be many water sources. You can have water from the tap, running rivers or streams, ice water in the teahouse, bottled mineral water, and boiling water. Hence, you need to understand how to have easy, safe drinking water during the trek. You can make water bacteria-free by using filtration, water treatment tablets, boiling water, and bottled mineral water.

However, the safest and easiest way to have clean, bacteria-free water is to boil water. The boiling you can have, eco-friendly and cost-effective. Bottled mineral water and using water treatment tablets are good, but not the best. It will be costly, not environmentally friendly, and also difficult to get. Whereas boiling water is available in every tea house, you can carry a hot or cold refillable water bottle. So, trekkers always drink safe drinking water during the Manaslu base camp trek, then they will avoid the disease transmitted from water.
