Manaslu Circuit Trek vs. Everest Base Camp Trek

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is much more beautiful than the Everest Base Camp Trek. Indeed, the Manaslu circuit trek is a virgin land, untouched, and less crowded Himalayan trekking trails. Whereas the Everest base camp trek is a much more crowded, easy adventure and less exploration than the Manaslu circuit trek. The Manaslu circuit trek will bring you the best cultural immersion with Tibetan-influenced culture. Moreover, trekkers can explore the beautiful Tibetan plateau from Rui La Pass. Trekkers will trek near the Tibetan border but are not allowed to cross the border. However, the Everest Base Camp trek is also one of the most beautiful trekking routes in the Himalayas. You will have the best cultural exploration of Buddhist flora and fauna and high-altitude trekking. Everest trekking is much more crowded than the Nepal Manaslu circuit trek.

Indeed, the most common features in the Everest Base Camp Trek and Manaslu Circuit Trek are high-altitude trekking, beautiful local culture, flora and fauna, difficulty level, and itinerary days. However, the adventure and the amazing Larke La Pass could be more difficult than the Everest Base Camp trek. During the Everest base camp trek, you will climb the Everest base camp (5,364 m.) and Kala Patthar (5,644 m.) above sea level. During the Manaslu Circuit trek, the high passes are Manaslu Base Camp (4,800 m.), Rui La pass (5,000 m.), and Larke La pass (5,106 m.) above sea level. Although the height of Larke La Pass is lower than Kala Patthar and Everest base camp. The Larke Pass is a longer crossing trail, Kala Patthar is the peak from which you can view the beautiful Mt. Everest.

Thus, the Manaslu Circuit Camp trek and the Everest Base Camp trek both have beautiful adventures, but the Manaslu trek has much more exploration of the Himalayas.

Altitude sickness is a mountain illness due to a lack of enough oxygen, and because of extreme cold, the air will be crisp and dry; thus, there will be difficulty breathing. Indeed, altitude sickness will occur at 3,000 m and above; some trekkers could have altitude sickness even at 2,500 m. The best presentation of altitude sickness is descending back 300 meters to 1,000 meters, having Diamox with the advice from a doctor, and always being with the group or with your guide. Moreover, during the high-altitude trek, you can avoid alcohol, caffeine, and unhealthy and raw foods. Trekkers can have enough fluids and carbohydrate food every day. Consuming ginger and garlic will help you maintain body temperature. Hence, during the Manaslu circuit trek, there will be a chance to experience altitude sickness; trekkers will have to stay connected with mountain guides.
